1-5 September 2025

Metal 2025, built on the 30-year tradition of ICOM-CC Metals Working Group Interim Meetings, took place from 1 to 5 September 2025 at Cardiff University, uniting the international metals conservation community for a week of fruitful discussions, new discoveries and network building.
ENDLESS Metal project was represented by the project Vice-chair Eva Menart and crucial team member Romain Jeanneret, who presented a poster on the project, highlighting the tools and activities. The ENDLESS Metal tools generated quite a lot of interest, which will hopefully contribute to expanding the group of users.
Different ENDLESS Metal tools were also presented in talks by Reed Hudson (‘That they shall so remain in all times coming’: Conserving the Honours of Scotland) who used the Pleco to treat the Honours of Scotland, and Ida Langemark (Implementing MiCorr—A new digital tool to assist diagnosis and documentation of corroded metal artefacts), who used MiCorr archaeological bronze objects, and a poster by Nataša Nemeček and Eva Menart (The advantage of controlling the Pleco with a potentiostat for the optimised treatment of tarnished silver in the collection of the National Museum of Slovenia).
