Training course - Introduction to the use of electrochemical /electrolytic techniques in metal conservation

Dr Valentina Ljubic Tobisch, a trainee at ENDLESS Metal Training School in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and recipient of an STSM in Neuchâtel, organised a training course in Vienna from 25 to 29 September 2023 (INTRODUCTION TO THE USE OF ELECTROCHEMICAL / ELECTROLYTIC TECHNIQUES IN METAL CONSERVATION) as part of her interdisciplinary Heritage Science Austria project "The impact of early photography and electrotyping media on the creation of images and contemporary art", in short PHELETYPIA , funded by the Austrian Academy of Sciences.

Under the responsibility of Dr Christian Degrigny, chair of ENDLESS Metal, the course was held at the Federal Monuments Office in Vienna. Participants were conservation professionals from Technisches Museum Wien, Universität für Angewandte Kunst, Naturhistorisches Museum or freelance conservators. ENDLESS Metal tools were disseminated on this occasion.
