Christian Degrigny, chairman of IG16215, gave an introductory course on heritage metals and their corrosion to Masters’ students from the Department of Archaeology, Conservation and History at the University of Oslo from 25 to 28 April 2023, during which he presented DiscoveryMat and the MiCorr application. Ina Therese Michaelsen and Andrea Lillemo, who both attended the project's first training school in Neuchâtel in January 2023, along with Michael Bendiksby and Line Flo, were very enthusiastic about testing MiCorr and its search engine to identify metal artefacts on a painted model aircraft. The hypothesis deduced from the application was that it was probably a zinc alloy, which was confirmed by FRX analysis.
